AquaMan 2 - 2022 finally filmed and produced , Here’s How James Wan Celebrated
we haven't seen Jason Momoa's character since Aquaman, his most recent chronological appearance in the DC Extended Universe timeline. With the release of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom at the end of the year, that will finally change, and the sequel has just passed a crucial milestone.
Aquaman 2 has finished filming after nearly seven months of rolling cameras, according to director James Wan.
With a photo of James wan, Jason Momoa, and Patrick Wilson, who is reprising his role as Orm/Ocean Master in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the filmmaker announced the momentous news. Take a look at this photo of the three men taken on site in Malibu, along with James Wan's caption.
Principal filming on Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom began on June 28, 2021, and according to James Wan's Instagram post, 95 percent of the film was shot in the United Kingdom. However, the remaining 5% required the cast and crew to travel to different locales, and the production's last film was shot in Malibu today. While it's likely that some time will be set aside for reshoots later this year, for the most part, the parts of Lost Kingdom have been collected, and now it's up to James Wan and his team to put them all together during the postproduction phase. At the very least, it won't be as wet as the shoot itself.
With a global box office take of $1.148 billion, 2018's Aquaman is still the highest-grossing film based on a DC Comics character, so Warner Bros. decided to keep the DCEU train rolling. Aquaman 2 was officially confirmed in January 2019, and director James Wan unveiled the official title on June 10, 2021, just a few weeks before filming began. The script was also written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick.
On December 16, 2022, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will make a splash in cinemas. As always, if you're curious about what else is coming down the DCEU creative pipeline, check out our upcoming DC movies guide.
